Church World Service (CWS) Hygiene Kits:  In the face of natural disasters, violence, or grinding poverty, CWS Hygiene kits can make the difference between sickness and health for struggling families.  Church World Service is in great need of hygiene kits for its international relief missions.

This is a great activity to do as a family.  Each kit costs about $12 and the contents are easily available.  Kits can be deposited in the baptistry at the front of the sanctuary.  These will be delivered at the end of April.  Click here for information on the CWS website about the hygiene kit program.

What you need for a kit:

  • 1 Hand Towel -- approximately 16 by 28 inches
  • 1 Washcloth
  • 1 Wide-toothed comb
  • 1 Nail clipper
  • 1 Toothbrush in original packaging
  • 6 Band-Aids standard size
  • Bar of bath size soap in original wrapper
  • 1-gallon plastic bag with zipper

Once you have all items, place them in the bag and deliver to the church

One Great Hour of Sharing Offering (OGHS)  is one of the four special mission offerings of the United Church of Christ.  The UCC works with international partners in over 138 countries to provide sources of clean water and food, education and health care, small business micro-credit, emergency relief, and advocacy and resettlement for refugess and displaced persons.  OGHS also supports domestic and international ministries for disaster preparedness and response.  This offering will be collected in the worship service on April 13th but you can donate over the next several weeks by check, indicating NIN on the memo line of your check, by using the offering envelope in the pew (indicate NIN on the envelope), or by donating online.
