Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in person!

Join us on Sunday mornings and learn more of God’s stories. We are all on a new journey this fall. For some, the journey may be like an adventure, full of fun, surprises, and new discoveries. Let’s go on this journey together and learn what God has in store for us! See you on Sunday!

Teaching. We compensate our teaching and nursery staff so parents can attend worship. Our teachers follow thematic written lesson plans that illustrate Jesus’ teachings with real-life issues. Bible stories help children grow in their own faith. There are enough lessons about Jesus healing the very sick, providing food for thousands, multiplying fish catches, calming and walking on the turbulent seas, and many more unbelievable yet true rocking twists and turns to teach the young and old for a lifetime!

Our curriculum for children and youth has as its focal point the simple goal of teaching that each of us is a beloved child of God. We engage the children in timely and meaningful conversations, form lasting friendships, and develop a love of helping others.

Mission. NHCC offers many opportunities for youth to grow in faith, volunteer in their community, and further develop their knowledge of God. At NHCC we believe that mission and hands-on service is an exercise in being a servant of God within our families, communities, schools, and in the church. In Jesus’ teachings, our relationship with each other is inseparable from our relationship with God.

Confirmation is a program for youth who are ready to explore their faith. During the confirmation program, confirmands gain a basic understanding of the Bible, sacraments, world religions, and practices of the United Church of Christ. The confirmands have an opportunity to articulate their own faith development. Contact Reverend Ken Baily or the church office for more information and applicable dates.

Adult Education includes scripture, lessons on spirituality, contemporary social issues, and concerns within NHCC itself. Adults occasionally meet after worship and fellowship time. See the Calendar for information.

Values. Continued growth in the knowledge and love of God is of prime importance to our congregation. We believe that building trust as a bridge across time, seasons, and ages can help form our guiding spirit. Please contact us with any questions, comments, or suggestions on the CE program.

CE Committee members are Jacy Bird, Kessely Hong, Anna McMahan, Yvette Ruffin, and Liz Simpson.
