We evaluate mission projects against our own mission statement, as follows:
Feed the Hungry ♥ House the Homeless ♥ Keep the Creation
Members and friends participate in our mission activities in various ways.
- Serving on our Mission Committee and helping direct our mission work
- Participating in hands-on service projects
- Donating funds
- Attending fundraisers and special events
Recent church mission activities include making sandwiches for Community Day Center of Waltham, walking to combat homelessness for Family Promise Metrowest, providing Thanksgiving meals for Newton Food Pantry, and donating funds to local, national, and international causes.
In 2021-2022, our Christian Education program engaged children and youth in numerous mission activities.
Our direct financial aid is collected for national and international services that UCC supports, as well as using our own budgeted fund for an emergency response.
At our Advent Giving Market and the Nicaraguan Scholarship lunch we collect money for organizations we want to support while reminding ourselves that we are a giving people.
