CE: November is a time to be grateful, serve, and rake leaves

Being thankful for what we have should be our attitude every day! At our church we are thankful that we can provide healthy sandwiches for the Community Day Center of Waltham, paint cards for hurricane survivors, and make delicious homemade pumpkins pies to feed others. We will also help by raking up the church leaves!

Thank you, NHCC friends and leaders, for the gifts we receive that allow us to serve others in many meaningful ways throughout the church year. We pray that your children will be thankful for Jesus and recognize the importance of gratitude in their daily lives. Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is our schedule for November 2024.

  • Sunday, November 3, 10:00 a.m., Children and youth begin in church school to make sandwiches for adults who visit the Community Day Center of Waltham. We return to the sanctuary for communion with our families.
  • Sunday, November 10, 10:00 a.m., We need your support! Bring rakes (extras if you have them) and a warm jacket so as a group we can all help clean up the front lawn during church school. Beverages and pastries will be provided.
  • Sunday, November 17, 10:00 a.m., What is usually on your plate on Thanksgiving day? We will experience how an “empty plate” tells a different story. What can we do for those who don’t have all that we have during this holiday? Please bring in your canned goods!
  • Sunday, November 24, 10:00 a.m., Children and families will be making pumpkin pies for our hungry neighbors who are supported by Newton Food Pantry.
