All-Newton UCC church service to be held August 3; community invited to worship together

Five local United Church of Christ parishes will host an inter-faith worship service, open to all, on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., in the air-conditioned sanctuary at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, 54 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands.

Rabbi Allison Berry, director of the Betty Ann Greenbaum Miller Center for Jewish Healing at Jewish Family & Children’s Service and former co-senior rabbi at Temple Shalom, West Newton, will preach.

Participating congregations are The Eliot Church of Newton, Newton Highlands Congregational Church, Second Church in Newton, The Union Church in Waban, and the United Parish of Auburndale.

According to the Reverend Dr. Ken Baily of Newton Highlands Congregational Church, “This annual joint service was begun in 2022 to honor the churches’ many connections and mutual commitments, and to step out of Covid times.”
