Saints follow God. They are almost always running against the wind, and they have a high likelihood of long-term success.
The Reverend Dr. Ken Baily
During the weekly worship service at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, on All Saints Day — November 2, 2025 — the Reverend Dr. Ken Baily celebrated saints and spoke about variety in Christian theology. He explained that there are multiple versions of the same Bible stories and that the same text can say different things in different moments.
“In liberal theology, we are open to continuing discovery and to finding new insights,” he said. “We don’t open our eyes to close our minds.”

The service included communion and the singing of “For All the Saints.”
For the postlude, organist Yevgenia Semeina played “All Saints Triumphant, Raise the Song” (R. Blake).
