Mr. Randy Ellis, member of Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, led worship on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
He spoke about what Jesus and the Bible actually teach about how to welcome strangers and refugees in a sermon entitled “The World Cup, Jesus, and the Separation of Church and Hate,” which he based on John Fugelsang’s 2025 book Separation of Church and Hate.
Deacon Tann Scott assisted with the service, and organist Yevgenia Semeina provided the music.
