February 2023
All God’s people have faith
The Bible teaches us about people with faith and talks about the circumstances or decisions that showed their faith. We will talk about the kinds of actions people take in these stories of faith.
How would you describe the connection between faith and action? In what ways has your faith affected your actions or choices in life? Who are the people in your church who make it possible to attend worship and church school? Who are the people in your family who have nurtured your faith?
Join us as we look at the family of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus to better understand what it means to have faith in God.
Here is our schedule for February 2023.
- Sunday, February 5, 10:00 a.m., In Matthew 25:40 Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.” We will continue with NHCC’s sandwich-making mission for the Community Day Center of Waltham.
- Sunday, February 12, 10:00 a.m., Let’s discern what Jesus’ home and life might have been like when he was growing up in Nazareth. Come and eat some of the foods that Jesus may have enjoyed in biblical times. Please inform Wendy Donnell, director of Christian Education, if your child has food allergies.
- Sunday, February 19, 10:00 a.m., Intergenerational worship–no church school. Have a fun and safe school vacation week. See you next Sunday!
- Sunday, February 26, 10:00 am., Have you ever done something that you know is wrong but you decided to do it anyway? The Bible tells us that Jesus had to deal with difficult temptations when he went into the wilderness (Mark 1:9-15). He stayed there for forty days! Jesus was about to choose his disciples and travel all over preaching the good news of salvation. Even Jesus did not want any distractions while teaching others. Do you think Jesus had to deal with some of the daily challenges similar to those we have to deal with? What challenges have tempted you in your life?
