The Mission Committee of Newton Highlands Congregational Church (NHCC) wrapped up a successful collection drive for school supplies on September 15, 2024. The drive was the brainchild of Tann Scott, who proposed it to the Mission Committee.
The supplies will be used 6th grade classroom at Dever Elementary School; the teacher is a friend of NHCC.
NHCC congregants placed bottles of hand sanitizer and boxes of tissues in a collection bin in the church parlor and ordered supplies through the teacher’s Amazon wish list.
Note from Lucy Barros
Dear Newton Highlands Congregational Church,
I want to thank everyone for the donations. My classroom is fully functioning thanks to you all. We have expo markers that were donated that we use daily for instruction. The bins that were donated have been used to keep the classroom organized and easy to find supplies. As the season begins to change, there have been a lot of sick kiddos in the building. Thanks to your numerous donations of tissue and hand sanitizer we can keep everyone safe.
Thank you,
Lucelina Barros
