At their meeting on February 5, 2021, the NHCC deacons voted to send half of the money in the Deacons’ Fund to nearby food pantries. They selected Centre Street Food Pantry, Community Day Center of Waltham, Newton Food Pantry, and Pilgrim Congregational Church Food Pantry.
In Luke 19:8 Jesus discusses giving half our wealth “to the poor.” Thank you, Deacons, for being Biblical in this difficult season.
For the rest of us, scripture encourages setting aside ten percent for works of mercy, and the NHCC budget does that each year. Thank you, members and friends, for all you do.
