When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
Mark 6:34
The Reverend Linda Hartley preached at Newton Highlands Congregational Church on Sunday, July 21, 2024, about the fact that God is all around us. She spoke about chapter 6, in the Gospel of Mark, when Jesus helped his disciples feed a crowd of 5,000. “This is a story of God’s compassion expressed through the ministry of Jesus,” she explained.
“God is present wherever we are, whoever we are,” she added. She posited that humans may project their limitations onto God, but God will not be contained by humans’ images. “God offers us a new world view of possibilities,” she stated.
