Call to Worship
*Opening Hymn #506 Deck Yourself, My Soul, with Gladness
*Prayer of Praise and Hope
One Voice: Psalm 147 begins this way: “Praise Yahweh! How good it is to sing praises to our God; for God is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting. Our God builds up Jerusalem, and gathers the outcasts of Israel. God heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. God lifts up the downtrodden and casts the wicked to the ground. Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre.” And so we gather in joyful praise and prayer; let us pray:
All: O God, eternal Spirit, you have graced the faithful in every generation with your ministry of promise and healing. You have invited us to hear your word, and to find hope in your way. You have taught us the promises of Jesus. In our world, here and now: in this City and this congregation, grace us with reconciliation, vision, wisdom, unity, and peace, to strengthen our own spirits and carry out your divine mission. We ask this not because we are arrogant or entitled, but because it is what you have promised, and so we rejoice in the requests, through Jesus’ name, Amen.

All: For this table is spread for you and for me that we might know that God has come to us and shared our common lot and invited us to receive life anew. Indeed, God has triumphed even over death. So we come to this table for thanksgiving, for grace, for God’s presence, for peace.
Leader: Let us unite our voices in preparation. God be with you.
All: And also with you.
Leader: Lift up your hearts. All: We lift them up to God! Leader: Let us praise God together, saying:
All: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might.
