Worshipers from several UCC churches gathered at The Second Church in Newton for a community Ash Wednesday service on February 18, 2026.
The Reverend Dr. Ken Baily from Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, read the opening scripture, Joel 2:12-17. Other participating churches were Eliot Church, Newton Presbyterian Church, Union Church in Waban, and United Parish Auburndale.
The service featured a combined “pick-up” choir in which NHCC member and soloist Ted Pales participated.
