Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC (NHCC), programs for children and youth will be on a summer break from Sunday, July 6, through Sunday, September 7.
Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell will be out of the office in July and August, and she will not be checking email. She will spend part of her time off on a sabbatical in Italy.
“I am thankful to the church for this special opportunity!” she said. “My plan is to spend time in Rome, Sorrento, Maratea, and Filadelfia. I look forward to touring the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica, and even to participating in a procession of San Francesco di Paola!”
On September 7, Re-Covenant Sunday, all are invited for an intergenerational worship service. Nursery care will be provided during worship.
The church school year will begin on Sunday, September 14. “We’ll meet to re-energize ourselves for our common purpose of learning about the lessons and people in the Bible,” stated Ms. Donnell.
Note from Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell
A heartfelt thank you to Megan for teaching our children each Sunday. Also special thanks to our childcare team: Rachel, Gabe, Elena, Caroline and Lorelei. NHCC’s safe church standards are a priority for everyone on our amazing team.
NHCC’s Christian Education program is dedicated to the ministry of the church’s children and youth. Please talk with your children and contact us with any feedback and suggestions to help us continue to provide a solid and relevant religious education program.
Have a wonderful summer!
