Worship on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, will be led by member Randy Ellis in the main sanctuary.
Mr. Ellis’s sermon title is “The World Cup, Jesus, and the Separation of Church and Hate” and his remarks will rely heavily on John Fugelsang’s 2025 book Separation of Church and Hate. The service will highlight what Jesus and the Bible actually teach us about how to welcome strangers and refugees.
The 9:30 a.m. service will be followed by fellowship on the church lawn.
Along with Mr. Ellis, worship leaders will be Misha Hill, Tann Scott, and Yevgenia Semeina-Maroyan.
