Through the efforts of Building Manager Yoko Bryden, overgrown bushes were pruned or removed on October 11, 2023, to open up the entrance to Newton Highlands Congregational Church. Stumps were removed, and the front lawn was graded and reseeded. Local contractor Jewett Landscape performed the work.
This project was overseen by an outdoor space team working on making the church more welcomig. Team members are the Reverend Ken Baily; Ms. Sally Brickell, moderator; and members Ms. Carol H. (native plant expert), Mr. Mark Johnson (architect), and Ms. Lynn Shields (affordable housing expert).
