The Reverend Dr. Ken Baily
In his meditation on Sunday, January 14, 2024, the Reverend Ken Baily told ths story of how the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., came to chair the Montgomery Improvement Association (MIA) in Montgomery, AL, in 1955. The MIA helped guide the Montgomery bus boycott, which eventually led to a court-ordered end to segregated seating on public buses.
The Reverend Baily explained King’s assertion that love and justice are the two pillars of Christianity.
During church school, ten children and youth decorated and assembled 25 bags of snacks for Newton Food Pantry’s family clientele. The project was organized by Director of Christian Education Ms. Wendy Donnell. .
