The Mission Committee reconvened on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, under the spirited interim leadership of NHCC member Erica Hodes. Members discussed their priorities, expressing a preference for mission partners that offer multiple ways to get involved (donations, direct service), run efficiently, and are in the local area.
Committee members agreed to use a portion of this year’s remaining mission funds to make the following donations:
- $1000 to Family Promise Metrowest, working to support families facing homelessness.
- $1000 to New Life Furniture Bank of MA, which provides furnishings to families transitioning out of homelessness.
- $$500 each to Centre Street Food Pantry and Newton Food Pantry.
