Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Colossians 3:12
The Bible instructs us to help others, be reliable, and always be a light for all of those in need. This month, we will talk about ways to help others at home, at school, and at church, and we will hear firsthand how our monthly sandwich making helps our neighbors.
Here is our schedule for October 2025.
- Sunday, October 5, 10:00 a.m., We will gather to make sandwiches for our neighbors at Community Day Center of Waltham.
- Sunday, October 12, 10:00 a.m., Come learn what Jesus meant when he said, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again: It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” (Matthew 5:13)
- Sunday, October 19, 10:00 a.m., In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, we learn to be a “light of the world,” just as Jesus is. Christ, as the Light of the World, is our source of the light, and our “lights” should reflect Him every day.
- Sunday, October 26, 10:00 a.m., Join us for a special event during church school. Dev Franklin, a staff member of Community Day Center of Waltham, will speak with the children and youth about how they help those in need. Visitors to the center have access to many services, including picking up their mail, enjoying a meal, browsing free clothing, receiving hygiene items and more.
