New members enrich faith family

“You meet saints everywhere. They can be anywhere. They are people behaving decently in an indecent society.”

Kurt Vonnegut

Carolyn and Danny Krebs and Brenda and Mike Scarpati joined Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in a joyful ritual held during the worship service. The congregation pledged to welcome and support them.

The Reverend Ken Baily talked about the memory and inspiration signified by All Saints Day, and congregants spoke aloud the names of departed friends and family from the past year. The service included communion.

“Every tribe is beloved by God,” the Reverend Baily said.

Children did their monthly sandwich making for the Community Day Center of Waltham under the guidance of church school teacher Megan Kolodney and Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell.

For the postlude, organist Yevgenia Semeina played “Song for All Saints” (M. McDonald).

Liz Ramos of the Pastoral Relations Committee hosted fellowship time.
