Worshipers gathered at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, on Sunday, September 13, 2026, for a return to 10:00 a.m. services and a celebration of Re-Covenant Sunday. The service included a shared reading of The Covenant of Community and Conviction.
The Reverend Ken Baily recounted the story in Exodus about Moses leading the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt toward the Promised Land. He spoke about leaning on God to escape from chaos.
The service included communion.
Music Director Jan Zimmerman and the church choir resumed their musical leadership, opening with “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,” and providing a choral offering of “Many Gifts, One Spirit” (A. Pote).
For the postlude, organist Yevgenia Semeina played Triumphal Procession (C. Hamlin).
