Lent opens with stories of testing and trusting. In parched wilderness and in lush gardens, temptation comes. Sin or faithfulness follows, not because of the testing itself, but because of what gets chosen in response. Trust God’s steadfast love. Rely on grace that ministers to our needs. Join us on Sundays and live out traditions whose truth we have experienced.
Thank you for your donations totaling $102 toward our church school chicken project for Heifer International! The mission of Heifer International is to end hunger and poverty. Heifer does this by providing livestock, training, and related services to farmers and communities worldwide.
What does God want us to do next? Support our next mission project, Clothes for Community, by helping NHCC collect new or gently worn clothing and footwear for women, men, and children of all ages.
Here is our schedule for March 2022.
- Sunday, March 6: 10:00 a.m., Are you surprised to learn that even Jesus was tempted to do something wrong? Whether we seek testing or flee from it, we are all tested at times. We may face tests with trust in God’s steadfast love and care. What are the wilderness places for you? What tempts you? (Matthew 4:1-11)
- Sunday, March 13: 10:00 a.m., Did you know that Jesus went up a mountain with his friends, Peter, John, and James? After that long journey they were very tired, but they woke up when they saw a bright light and Moses and Elijah. Can you imagine how surprised they were to see people from Heaven talking to Jesus? How would you feel if you had an experience like this? (Luke 9: 28-36)
- Sunday, March 20: 10:00 a.m., God has made a promise to us, and that will never fail. Food and drink fade away, but God’s promises stay and last forever. If we follow God, seek God, and live for God’s purposes and not our own, we will never be spiritually hungry and will know what brings genuine peace. (Isaiah 55:1-9)
- Sunday, March 27: 10:00 a.m., As children of God, we tell others about Jesus, forgive those who wrong us, and obey the commands of the Lord. We use the talents and abilities God has given us to bring His glory, and we show kindness and mercy to everyone. How will we follow Jesus’ actions in 2022? (Luke 15:1-3)
