Buildings & Grounds oversees window protection, roof repairs

The Buildings and Grounds Committee recently had a plexiglass layer applied outside the stained glass chancel window, behind the altar, to protect it from the elements. Pleased with the results, they will next have plexiglass installed to protect the balcony window near the narthex.

After two years of working to get estimates, the committee, led by Randy Ellis, has hired a new roofing company and is initiating approximately $50,000 worth of repairs and deferred maintenance on sections of the church roof over the next several months. The extensive work will include replacing 140 roof tiles and repairing some gutters.

These projects are being paid for with funds from the building maintenance budget and from the last capital campaign. Thank you to all donors!
