CE: Children and youth learn about hunger through mission activity

Thanks so much for the opportunity to work with you, your teachers, and all of the kids this morning! I loved joining you and was very impressed that the group was so attentive during the discussion. They did a fabulous job and I’m so glad they enjoyed decorating and making kids bags!  Thanks to YOU and everyone who made this gift possible!

Marilyn Crone, Newton Food Pantry

An enthusiastic group of children and youth worked together on October 24, 2021, to fill 24 bags with child-friendly snacks and drinks meant to be enjoyed during the school week by families who are clients of Newton Food Pantry. Children also decorated the bags.

Participants were introduced to guest speaker Marilyn Crone, a Newton Food Pantry volunteer. Ms. Crone spoke about food insecurity in Newton. This mission activity was organized by Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell.

Children and youth are invited to return every Sunday to enjoy a time of learning and sharing.

Forget your child’s mask? No worries! Child-sized masks are now available upon request.
