CE: Prophets and pumpkins

October 2022

Trusting God

Have you ever heard about a man named Habakkuk? There is a story in the Old Testament about a prophet who taught people that they will never get away from making bad decisions. God will notice! We will learn this month that God is so loving that we should also be loving to others. What makes Habakkuk so important even today? At the end of all his wrong decision making he decided to trust God. Would you?

Here is our schedule for October 2022.

October CE mission activity: Please bring canned vegetables for Newton Food Pantry.

  • Sunday, October 2, 10:00 a.m., We can’t wait to see you! We are making sandwiches for the Community Day Center of Waltham. After worship we will enjoy music, ice cream, crafts, and a photo booth on the front lawn of the church.
  • Sunday, October 9, 10:00 a.m., Have you ever read about Habakkuk? What’s so cool about this man and this scripture? If you could talk to God face to face and ask one question, what would you ask? Come to church school with a question or two that you would ask God.
  • Sunday, October 16, and October 23, 10:00 am., Do you have a spiritual journal? Habakkuk had a journal because God wanted him to jot down his own faith journey. Do you think God would want us to do the same? Come and make your own spiritual journal using various art supplies and writing tools.
  • Sunday, October 30, 10:00 am., You and your friends are invited to a fun event during church school. We will be painting pumpkins and brewing up some fun activities from the creepy to the creative! Yes, it is true! But don’t be scared, God will keep you safe.
