Children and youth began Church School Rally Day (September 17, 2023) in worship and then gathered to make sandwiches for neighbors at Community Day Center of Waltham.
In his meditation, the Reverend Ken Baily spoke about the natural delight and joy that children possess. He also noted the September 2022 death of a young Iranian woman who protested Iran’s hijab mandate and the 60th anniversary of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, AL. He invited worshippers to read Martin Luther King, Jr.’s eulogy for three of the four girls killed in the bombing.
Fellowship time after worship featured an ice cream sundae bar arranged by Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell and hosted by the Christian Education Committee.
