The Eliot Church of Newton invites the community to an illuminating presentation on the history of African missions in the United Church of Christ by linguist and historian Dr. Emmanuel Sithole on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 11:45 a.m.
Dr. Sithole, originally from Zimbabwe, will discuss the research he is doing in the archives of Harvard University and in the Boston Congregational Library and Archives.
The conversation will foster a deeper understanding of UCC history and will provide support for a young scholar who is doing vital, timely work.
After the presentation, an offering will be collected to support Dr. Sithole’s research. Electronic donations are also welcome. Please indicate that the contribution is intended for Dr. Sithole.
