In March 2022, NHCC sent $5,000 from member-and-friend gifts to the Afghan refugee resettlement effort through Temple Shalom. This was in addition to $10,000 donated by NHCC in December 2021.
The refugee fund was started several years ago to support Syrian refugees and, with permission, its purpose has been expanded over time.
In his sermon on March 6, 2022, the Reverend Ken Baily explored an effort to support Ukrainian refugees.
