In an effort organized by the Newton Highlands Congregational Church Mission Committee, Thanksgiving meals were distributed on Monday, November 25, 2024, to about a dozen families identified by Newton Food Pantry.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Mission Committee organized meals that included a roast turkey, mashed potatoes, and a meal kit with canned sides, gravy, and more. The committee also provided a gift card for each family.
On Sunday, November 24, children and parents gathered in the kitchen to make pumpkin pies for distribution with the meals. The happily-busy pie-making extravaganza was organized by Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell.
