Monthly sandwich making by the children and youth of Newton Highlands Congregational Church was featured in a November 17, 2024, article in Fig City News about ways Newtonians are helping the clients of the Community Day Center of Waltham.
Fig City student reporter Grace Yang interviewed Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell; Ms. Donnell, who is a regular supporter of the Community Day Center, spoke about how she works to raise children’s awareness of neighbors who are less fortunate.
Wrote Ms. Yang, “Donnell said it is important for the church’s children to be involved in these activities because it is a hands-on way to create understanding and community.”
