Following a recent donation of $1,000 to the building fund for the Toussaint Louverture Cultural Center, Newton Highlands Congregational Church received a letter of thanks in December 2024.
Wrote Marvin D. Mathelier of the center’s Executive Committee, “Your donation enables us to protect and preserve our rich cultural heritage, ensuring that Haiti’s extraordinary history, resilience, and contributions to the world are accurately represented and celebrated.”
The center is under construction and is expected to open in February 2025. The donation was made with funds earmarked by the church for values-based capital projects at other institutions.
