Services move to 9:30 a.m. on July 5

According to Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, tradition, worship moves to 9:30 a.m. in July, and non-Communion summer services are typically planned and led by non-clergy members. 

The 2026 summer schedule is as follows:

Worship at 10:00 a.m.

  • June 14: The Reverend Devlin Scott, guest preacher for Newton Highlands Village Day service
  • June 21: The Reverend Dr. Ken Baily, Circle of Blessings, ice cream social
  • June 28: The Reverend Dr. Ken Baily

Worship at 9:30 a.m.

  • July 5: The Reverend Matthew Rasure, Communion
  • July 12: Kitty Rieske (Laughter Yoga after worship)
  • July 19: Randy Ellis
  • July 26: Lucy Barros
  • August 2: The Reverend Dr. Eric Jackson, All-Newton UCC worship/Communion

Evening worship at 6:00 p.m.

  • August 12: Wednesday worship with light meal
  • August 19: Wednesday worship with light meal
  • August 26: Wednesday worship with light meal (Norumbega Harmony)

Worship at 9:30 a.m.

  • September 6: Pastoral Intern Rada Ruggles, Labor Day weekend

Worship at 10:00 a.m.

  • September 13: The Reverend Dr. Ken Baily, Re-Covenant Sunday/Communion

Summer hours for the church office run from June 22 to August 31. During this time, the office will be open for about ten hours per week, as follows:

  • Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (remote)
  • Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.

The Reverend Ken Baily will be out of the office from Tuesday, June 30-Tuesday, July 21. During this time, the Reverend Matthew Rasure will be on call. Contact us for assistance.

Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell will be out of the office in July and some dates in August. She will be checking email sporadically.
