God’s Word is available to us to deeply water our struggling souls.
Kitty Rieske
Lay leader and avid gardener Kitty Rieske led worship on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, explaining how her faith sustains her even during times of struggle. Her sermon was entitled “Gracious Forgiveness and the Need for Deep Watering.”
Ms. Rieske spoke about how her energy for facing the world is renewed when she turns over her concerns to God. “When I feel choked off from God,” she said, “I find God’s Word in church.”
Organist Yevgenia Semeina provided music for the service. The offertory was “Nocturne” (E. C. von Fricken).
For the postlude, Ms. Semeina played Postludio (L. Bottazza).
During fellowship time, member Marian Reynolds led Laughter Yoga on the church lawn.
