The worship service at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, opened with “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,” sung by the choir.
Children gathered on the steps of the chancel for a Blessing of the Backpacks, with some of their own backpacks and some new ones that will be filled and donated to the Home for Little Wanderers.
In his mediation, the Reverend Ken Baily spoke about God’s message that we should love the Lord, love our neighbor, and love ourselves.
For the postlude, organist Yevgenia Semeina played “Postlude” by J. Conley.
