Thanks to masterful tech support from Misha Hill with back-up from Rich Bryden, NHCC held its first-ever hybrid-format congregational meeting after the worship service on Sunday, October 17, 2021. The meeting was held in the sanctuary, and congregants also had the option to join the meeting on Zoom.
The PowerPoint and handouts were prepared by office administrator Sarah Eberly. Contact the church office for links to the documents.
After approving the Treasurer’s Report, fastidiously prepared by Jim Harper, and accepting the Auditor’s Report, carefully documented by Peter Moore, currently NHCC’s longest-term member, participants enjoyed a report from the Senior Housing Committee, represented by Joy Huber. The committee, now in its seventh year, is submitting a legal addendum to its current application to the City of Newton for changes to the parsonage. In this updated version, the main house would be converted to three apartments for seniors, and the carriage house would become a single-family home for a pastor.
Meeting attendees approved the following motion: Motion to affirm the vote of Council on October 14, 2021, so that if the City of Newton approves our amended application, the congregation approves the changes to the second floor and authorizes the Senior Housing Committee to move forward with this project during the fall and winter of 2021, prior to the June 2022 Annual Meeting.
Thank you to all who prepared for, supported, and attended this meeting!
