The Reverend Linda Hartley
In her first guest sermon of the summer, on June 25, 2023, the Reverend Linda Hartley spoke about God’s command to put the welfare of all above that of the few. She noted that the day was both Open and Affirming Sunday and the 66th anniversary of the formation of the United Church of Christ, and she spoke about the beauty of a diverse church in which worshippers love their neighbors.
In her message, CE Director Ms. Wendy Donnell held up a flat Jesus and encouraged listeners to take Jesus with them this summer. Children and youth had the option to enjoy time outdoors during the service.
