Adults pray for healing, children make sandwiches for hungry

“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

James 5:16

Worshipers gathered for a healing service on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Newton Highlands Congregational Church.

The Reverend Ken Baily identified several recurring themes in the Bible, including being held captive and being liberated, self-governance, hunger and thirst, togetherness, eternity, love, money and possessions, and justice and healing. He said that part of the point of healing is to address the separation of the exile, and that healing can be both personal and communal.

The service included Communion, prayer circles, and clarinet playing by Dr. Jeff Wu.

Children and youth made sandwiches and cards for hungry neighbors at Community Day Center of Waltham.
