New paraments enliven sanctuary

Thanks to deliberations by the Worship & Spiritual Life Committee (W&SL) and artful efforts by former W&SL member Carol Jensen, new, more modern, paraments, or hangings, are being used in the Newton Highlands Congregational Church sanctuary as of March 3, 2024.

The paraments are custom-designed and handmade by Jeff Wunrow Designs, a St. Louis company that makes liturgical textiles.

“The fabric is silk, and the designs we chose are The Spirit Moved (red), River of Life (white), Helix (green), and Horizon (purple), which will include the chalice from our logo,” stated Ms. Jensen. “The company is making them consecutively. The white ones arrived in time for Easter. Next we will receive the green ones, followed by the red ones and then the purple.”
