Members of the Christian Education Committee hosted a lovely after-worship gathering on Sunday, May 14, 2023, to celebrate the women of Newton Highlands Congregational Church. Early-bird Director of Christian Education Ms. Wendy Donnell arrived at 6:00 a.m. to decorate tables in the parlor with fresh flowers and pink table coverings.
Church members and friends flocked to the parlor for a much-appreciated time of snacking and socializing. One attendee expressed her gratitude to Ms. Donnell as follows: “Thanks for setting up a beautiful Mother’s Day coffee hour! You did such a lovely job and everything was so pretty!”
The delicious refreshments included cakes, chocolate cupcakes, fresh croissants, strawberries, watermelon, and a selection of donuts for children and youth. Ms. Isabelle Draper helped with the coffee set up, and Ms. Yumiko Matsuoka and Ms. Megan Dillon helped with clean up. Several youth helped with serving.
