For decades NHCC has enjoyed a pageant sometime during Advent, traditionally in the afternoon. Our Star Pageant has been a mixture of scripture, stories, poetry, and carols, where the children lead and the assembly sings along. And then we share cookies in the Parlor!
For the past two years (2023 and 2024) we’ve moved the Pageant into morning worship, and edited the story to include a theme, such as in 2024, how all of us are invited to enter the role of Jesus, just as so many of our infants have done over the decades.
The video below is our 2020 pageant: it was the year we could not assemble in the sanctuary. So we gathered online, and all watched the video at one time, one Sunday afternoon. It was a cast of dozens. And the core affirmation was and is, “I think God can find us wherever we are.” It’s just under 14 minutes, and even after Covid, it has a message to share, and friends from church to enjoy. So, let is bless you any time you enjoy it, as NHCC adapts to each new season, and prepares again for Christmas.
P.S. In 2021 and 2022 you may remember we gathered outside for stories and carols. But no one took a video…
