Donate blankets and towels, help a local family

And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

Revelation 19:8

Drop off new blankets and towels at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, in October, and support the Mission Committee’s fourth annual drive for Welcome Home.

The “Fabric of Community” blanket-and-towel drive runs from October 1 to 26, 2025, and items may be placed in the church parlor at 54 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands.

Blankets and towels may also be purchased through a Target registry.

Welcome Home is a Newton-based nonprofit whose mission is to “provide families experiencing hardship with basic household items they need to live with dignity.”

“We always need linens for our clients!” stated Welcome Home Newton’s volunteer drive manager Rachel Pemstein. “Quality is dignity, so we ask that all items be in great condition.”

Welcome Home collects and redistributes new and like-new household items to hundreds of people each month with no fees, forms, or requirements. Any items that cannot be used are repurposed or recycled appropriately, thus respecting the environment.
