Door artwork adorns NHCC lawn

Behold, I have set before thee an open door…

Revelation 3:8

Stop by 54 Lincoln Street to see two welcoming, colorfully painted doors displayed on the NHCC lawn. The doors are two of the winning designs selected in Newton Out Doors, a competition hosted this winter by Newton Community Pride. The winning entries were painted by local and regional artists and are displayed in Newton’s village centers, including at NHCC. The competition was covered by the Boston Globe.

The doors will be up through the summer and will draw many eyes to our sanctuary and our ministry as a symbol of our identity: Welcome. And, our God is a creative God, who loves a good symbol.

Thank you to Reverend Ken Baily, Randy Ellis (chair of the Buidlings and Grounds Committee), and Carol Hausner for collaborating with community activist John Rice and others on this installation.
