Four new members–Nancy Bauer, Annie Ingram, Christopher “Kippy” Ingram, and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Simpson–joined Newton Highlands Congregational Church (NHCC) during the worship service on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Deacon Joy Huber assisted during the service and helped welcome them.
The Reverend Ken Baily preached about the transfiguration story. “It includes all signs of God’s kingdom and emphasizes healing, tending the poor, and facing down evil systems,” he explained.
Children and youth made cards and decorated cookies for older church members and loved ones. Some of the cookies were served during fellowship time.
The NHCC choir sang “We Believe That This Is Jesus,” with a solo by Ted Palés.
Jacy Bird, a member of the Christian Education Committee, assisted by his children, had a wonderful time hosting fellowship!
And the coat drive for Mattapan Health Clinic concluded with a successful collection.
