Hong family members light candles on second Sunday in Advent

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.

Isaiah 11:6

Members Kessely and Gabe Hong lit Advent candles for the Sunday, December 4, 2022, service. The second week of Advent is the week of peace.

In his sermon, the Reverend Ken Baily stated, “If we have decent people, government, decision makers, if we work for peace and justice, if we share and go the extra mile, we can change our destiny. It’s up to us.”

Kessely is a lecturer in public policy at Harvard Kennedy School and an expert in negotiation. She and her husband Ted, a radiation oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, have three sons–Gabe, Caleb, and Josh. Gabe is a senior in high school, Caleb is a sophomore, and Josh is in 8th grade.
