June brings beauty in all forms, from mission work to community building!

We have fun and meaningful plans this month. As a community we will make sandwiches for the hungry twice this month, attend worship at Parish of St. Paul, collect cans of tuna fish, hand out new Bibles, honor the men we love, and enjoy summer treats and fun games! Come celebrate your faith, hope, and love with your church friends.

Help NHCC donate cans of solid white tuna for the Newton Food Pantry this month!  Last year we delivered 100 cans to people in need, especially during the summer months. Can we give more?

Here is our schedule for June.

  • Sunday, June 2, 10:00 a.m., We will gather in the kitchen to make sandwiches for our neighbors at Community Day Center of Waltham. After worship, join members and friends of Newton Highlands Congregational Church for our Annual Meeting. Childcare will be available.
  • Sunday, June 9, 10:30 a.m., Village Day in Newton Highlands. Everyone is welcome to worship at Parish of St. Paul, 1135 Walnut Street, Newton.
  • Sunday, June 16, 10:00 a.m., Father’s Day. Join us for an intergenerational Circle of Blessings worship with prayers of thanksgiving for the past church year. Nursery care will be available. After worship we will enjoy outdoor games and ice cream treats! Bring a towel and sunscreen if you want to splash in the kiddie pool.
  • Sunday, June 23, 10:00 a.m., Let’s consider the “Fruit of the Spirit” and how we can remember and use this lesson in July and August. We will examine each one the elements of “fruit” and how we can allow God to work in and through us even during the summer.
  • Sunday, June 30, 10:00 a.m., We will make sandwiches for the Community Day Center of Waltham that will be delivered with fruit and cookies on July 1.

Church school will not be in session during July and August. Nursery care will only be available on August 4th for our church wide Newton gathering. Re-covenant Sunday will be held on September 8th with nursery care available. Church School will reconvene on September 15, 2024.
