Lighting improvements underway

As part of continuing efforts to make Newton Highlands Congregational Church even more welcoming, in spring 2024 Misha Hill, chair of the Buildings & Grounds Committee, is overseeing repairs and upgrades to the lighting in the church sanctuary, narthex, and hallway.

Some of the project’s goals are as follows:

  • Replace broken bulbs and repair broken fixtures
  • Improve lighting above and in front of chancel steps
  • Improve lighting over choir area so singers can read their music and so the choir looks good on broadcasts of the worship services
  • Install screen for announcements in hallway facing Lincoln Street
  • Organize and consolidate lighting and fan controls and switches to make them user friendly

Mr. Hill supervised electrical repairs in April 2024.

On May 7, 2024, Mr. Hill met on with contractor David Nauss and moderator Sally Brickell to discuss the best and most affordable ways to accomplish the goals of the project.
