Matthew Rasure will speak about food security on MLK Sunday

Guest preacher Matthew Rasure will give a talk entitled “Feeding Our Future: Food Security and Community Action in Greater Boston” after worship on Sunday, January 19, 2026, at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC.

In his presentation, the Reverend Rasure, currently director of development for the Allston Brighton Food Pantry, will explore food security in Massachusetts and Greater Boston, examining the structural forces shaping our food system, the role of grocery rescue operations, and the growing demand for community-based support.

He will highlight local efforts that bring practical and compassionate — but fundamentally incomplete — solutions to neighbors facing hunger.
