On Sunday, March 9, 2025, Newton Highlands Congregational Church (NHCC) parishioners gathered in the Great Hall for a fundraising lunch sponsored by the Mission Committee.
Volunteers served Nicarguan style dishes, and church member Jean Christoffersen and her husband Lou Fiore spoke about their work in San Juan del Sur. In addition, visitors from the Union Church in Waban spoke about their service projects in San Juan del Sur.
Proceeds from the lunch, expected to exceed $2,000, will be donated to the Free High School of San Juan del Sur. Additional donations are welcome! Money men Peter Moore and Jim Harper handled the financial side of the lunch.
NHCC has been a long-time partner and funder of San Juan del Sur. Fig City News recently covered some of the work that has been done.
