Christian Education shares New Year’s message

December has been filled with exciting times at NHCC. First, the angel brought the news about a child named Jesus to Mary and Joseph. Mary’s cousin Elizabeth and her husband Zechariah also learned that they would be parents. Then angels announced Jesus’s birth to the shepherds. Magi traveled from a great distance to bring him gifts. Simeon and the prophet Anna were very happy about the birth of the One promised by God*.

In the weeks ahead we will learn what Jesus’s life must have been like between the time when he was ten or twelve and when he grew up to be an adult. One time Jesus even managed to run away from his parents and go to a nearby temple. We will find out where Jesus went and why he sat with the teachers, listening and asking questions.

We will also learn about John, the son of Elizabeth and Zechariah. John was sent by God to prepare the way for Jesus and to baptize him. Join us as we discover why Jesus spends time in the desert alone to begin his ministry.

We have received suggestions from some of you to help us plan our Zoom church segments for the upcoming months. If you haven’t yet done so, please help us by answering a few questions in a short online survey.  You may also email me, Wendy Donnell, at [email protected] if I can do anything to help you during this time.

Happy New Year from the entire Christian Education team!
