A group of dedicated Newton Highlands Congregational Church walkers of all ages braved a light mist to participate in a local version of the Family Promise Metrowest Walk to End Homelessness on Sunday, April 29, 2023. Several other walkers joined in spirit by circling the Great Hall.
The walk was overseen by Ms. Kitty Rieske, chair of the Mission Committee, with an assist from long-time committee member Lynn Scheller. After the walk, participants enjoyed pizza and salad in the church parlor.
With generous donations from church members and friends, NHCC Walkers raised $3,351.41 as of May 1, far surpassing the team’s original goal of $1,000. Thank you to all participants and supporters!
